The Proposed Project will replace the existing I-55 bridge located between Crittenden County, Arkansas and Shelby County, Tennessee. The proposed Project limits begin just west of I-55 Exit 12 (E.H. Crump Boulevard) in Tennessee and extend to just east of I-55 Exit 1 (Bridgeport Road) in Arkansas, a total of approximately 1.6 miles. The proposed Project alignment is a result of an effort to minimize adverse human and environmental impacts and to provide a facility able to serve transportation needs into the future.

Due to Project design refinements, an environmental re-evaluation document is being prepared to update analyses from prior National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation. Pursuant to 23 CFR § 771.129(c), a re-evaluation is required when project modifications have the potential to affect previous determinations of environmental impacts.
