Former Auburn Signee Kayode Oladele Joins Memphis Roster
Special to The Daily News
The Memphis Tigers have added four-star defensive end Kayode Oladele to the roster.
The former Auburn signee joined practice Tuesday morning, Aug. 28, after not qualifying at Auburn. The NCAA has cleared Oladele to be an academic redshirt this upcoming season.
The Tigers have searched for pass rushing help since defensive end commit Montre Bonner couldn’t enroll for this upcoming season.
Oladele, a native of Nigeria, was reportedly limited to six high school games this season because of an issue with his visa.
This is the second season in a row the Tigers have added a former Auburn signee in preseason camp. Carlito Gonzalez joined the Tigers last fall. Other fall additions include Damonte Coxie and Jonathan Wilson.
According to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, Oladele is a four-star ranked No. 310 in the nation. Baylor, Florida State and Ole Miss were other teams to make offers to the defensive end.
Memphis coach Mike Norvell will elaborate on his eligibility situation after Tuesday’s practice.
