The Pink Palace Museum will host Family Science Night: Astronomy Friday, July 28, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the museum, 3050 Central Ave. Stargaze through a telescope on the mansion lawn with help from the Memphis Astronomical Society, explore outer space from the Sharpe Planetarium, participate in hands-on experiments, go on a “celestial scavenger hunt,” and more. The Campbell Clinic Youth Sports Injury Prevention Symposium will be held Saturday, July 29, from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Bryan Campus Life Center at Rhodes College, 2000 North Parkway. Geared toward coaches, trainers, parents and others who work with youth in organized sports, the course will cover topics such as injury prevention, recognition and management of injuries when they happen, and guidelines for safely returning to sports. Church Health will host a Living Life Deliberately: Mindfulness Meditation in Daily Life class Monday, July 31, at noon in the Church Health Meditation Chapel, 1350 Concourse Ave. Rob Dove from Rhodes College Counseling will discuss how to practice meditation in ways that foster the ability to live deliberately.
