The 2017 Film Prize: Memphis Festival takes place Friday through Sunday, Aug. 4-6. All top 10 films will screen as one block lasting about two hours multiple times throughout the weekend Malco Studio on the Square, 2105 Court Ave. After the screening, festival passholders will vote on their favorite, and the winners will be announced at an awards brunch Sunday. David Lusk Gallery will hold an opening reception for its “Price is Right” exhibition Friday, Aug. 4, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at DLG, 97 Tillman St. Around 20 artists will display works priced at $1,000 or less. Visit davidluskgallery.com.

Memphis Botanic Garden will hold its family-friendly Firefly Glow Party on Friday, Aug. 4, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at MBG, 750 Cherry Road. Make yourself glow at the Illumination Station, make a firefly friend, visit the Glow Lab, and bring light-up toys for a dance party. Tickets are $12 for members and $15 for nonmembers. The Blvd will present Family Movie Night On The Lawn Friday, Aug. 4, at 7:30 p.m. at its Southwind campus, 8220 E. Shelby Drive. Gallery Ten Ninety-One will hold an artists’ reception for the 2017 MGAL Member Showcase and Sale Sunday, Aug. 6, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the WKNO Digital Media Center, 7151 Cherry Farms Road. Artwork by members of the Memphis/Germantown Art League will be exhibited through Aug. 29, and all pieces are for sale. Visit wkno.org.

Memphis Opportunity Scholarship Trust (MOST) will host a Back-to-School Fundraising Night Monday, Aug. 7, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Panera Bread, 4350 Poplar Ave. A portion of event sales will benefit MOST, which provides need-based scholarships to Memphis-area students.
