The Metal Museum will host Repair Days Weekend Thursday, Sept. 24, through Sunday, Sept. 27, at the museum, 374 Metal Museum Drive. Metalsmiths from around the country will be on hand to repair broken metal objects; all proceeds benefit the museum. Visit metalmuseum.org for a schedule of activities.

Downtown Memphis Commission will present the 2015 Downtown Vision Awards during the South Main Street Party Thursday, Sept. 24, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at The Chisca on Main, 272 S. Art for a Smart Start will be held Thursday, Sept. 24, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Crosstown Arts, 430 N. Cleveland St. The art show aims to help build a love for reading, and a portion of proceeds from sales will directly support Books from Birth. “The Collaboratory: The Edge Survey,” an exhibit showcasing public art ideas for the Edge District, will be on display Friday, Sept. 25, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Marshall Arts, 639 Marshall Ave. The project features works proposed by eight local artists and is funded by the Downtown Memphis Commission.
