Knowledge Quest and the Metal Museum will host a reception for “An Evening of Art,” an exhibition of students’ work in the Soulsville Metals Collaborative, on Monday, Nov. 23, from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Universal Parenting Place at Knowledge Quest, 990 College Park Drive, suite 104. Mid-South Ice House will be open for its Holiday Season from Friday, Nov. 27, through Jan. 5 at 10705 Ridgeway Industrial Drive in Olive Branch. Special events include a “Frozen” Friday Skate, a Star Wars Skate, a Grinchmas Skate and more. Visit midsouthicehouse.com for a schedule.

The Peabody will kick off the holiday season with Santa’s arrival and its tree-lighting ceremony Friday, Nov. 27, at 149 Union Ave. Events begin with the 11 a.m. Duck March. Local choirs will sing throughout the day, and Santa and his elves will arrive after the 5 p.m. Duck March to pass out candy and light the Peabody Christmas tree. Visit peabodymemphis.com.

Eyewear Gallery will hold a food drive for Mid-South Food Bank throughout November at its office, 428 Perkins Road Extended. Anyone who donates two cans of food can suggest someone to receive a free vision screening on Fridays from noon to 2 p.m. Visit eyeweargallery.com or call 901-763-2020.

City of Germantown will host its holiday tree lighting Friday, Nov. 27, at Municipal Park Lake, 1900 S. Germantown Road. Come at 5 p.m. to sing holiday songs and toast marshmallows. Following the 5:30 p.m. tree lighting, merrymakers can enjoy refreshments and visit with Santa. Visit germantown-tn.gov.
