The Piano Man is coming back to Memphis.

Billy Joel is set to play FedExForum Friday, March 25, a date that brings him back to a city with plenty of connections to his past.

The 66-year-old singer songwriter was still an up-and-coming act when he sang and tickled the ivories during appearances at the previous incarnation of Lafayette's Music Room in the 1970s.

After he'd already become a star several times over, Joel reminisced during his show at The Pyramid in 1999 about his connection to Overton Square, making specific reference to the district. Joel has also played The Pyramid in a joint appearance with fellow piano man Elton John. His upcoming show will be his first at the Forum.

Tickets will go on sale for his March show on Nov. 20 at 10 a.m. at the box office and through Ticketmaster.
