Memphis Convention and Visitors Bureau will celebrate National Travel and Tourism Week with a “Party in the Park” Wednesday, May 6, from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in Court Square, at Main Street and Court Avenue. The event will include food trucks, booths, entertainment, giveaways and more. Visit ilovememphisblog.com.

2015 Beale Street Music Festival will be held Friday, May 1, through Sunday, May 3, in Tom Lee Park. The kickoff to the Memphis in May International Festival includes more than 60 acts crossing every genre. Tickets are $40 each day. Latino Memphis Festival 2015 and CincoKmayo (5K) Race will be held Saturday, May 2, at Overton Park, 1914 Poplar Ave. The race starts at 9 a.m.; the fiesta is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and includes a live mariachi band, Latino food, and kids crafts and pinatas. AIA Memphis will host Polish architect Piotr Lewicki, presenting the Memphis in May/AIA Memphis Distinguished Architects of the World Series lecture, Tuesday, May 5, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the University of Memphis Fogelman Center, 330 Innovation Drive. Southwest Tennessee Community College will host a town hall meeting titled “Workforce Solutions: ‘A Community Imperative’” Wednesday, May 6, from 10:30 a.m. to noon in the Macon Cove Farris Auditorium, 5983 Macon Cove. The meeting will discuss how the U.S. Labor Department’s Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training prepares participants for high-wage, high-skill jobs. Cost is free. The Peabody will host its monthly Master Taster’s Club wine tasting Wednesday, May 6, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Peabody Corner Bar, 149 Union Ave. The tasting will include four Australian wines and light bites prepared by Peabody chefs.
