Independent Bank Fireworks Spectacular in Downtown Memphis will be held Saturday, July 4, in Mud Island River Park, 125 N. Front St. The park and Mississippi River Museum will open at 10 a.m. Carnival rides and live music begin at 6 p.m., and the fireworks are set to begin at 9:30 p.m. Visit mudisland.com.

City of Germantown will host its Independence Day fireworks extravaganza Saturday, July 4, in Municipal Park, 1900 S. Germantown Road. Activities begin at 5 p.m. with live music, moon bounces, games, crafts and refreshments, followed by a fireworks display at 9:10 p.m. Visit germantown-tn.gov.

On Location: Memphis will kick off the inaugural Memphis Shorts Festival Tuesday, July 7, at 7 p.m. at Hard Rock Café, 126 Beale St. Three short documentary films will be screened, and the audience will give on-the-spot reviews to determine which is screened in the OL:M International Film and Music Festival in September.
