Business Licenses Drop 6 Percent In Fourth Quarter

The Shelby County Clerk’s Office issued 1,083 business licenses in the fourth quarter of 2014, according to The Daily News Online, www.memphisdailynews.com.

This represented a 5.9 percent decline from the 1,151 licenses issued in 2013.

The Cordova South 38018 ZIP and the Hickory Hill North 38115 ZIP led the way, with each having 51 licenses filed in the fourth quarter. Cordova North’s 38016 ZIP and Bartlett’s 38134 ZIP each had 49 filings.

Counting the 1,037 fourth quarter filings that originated in Tennessee, October was the busiest month, with 436. 

Corporate charters in the fourth quarter numbered 352, a 10 percent decrease from 391 in the fourth quarter of 2013.
