The Peabody will host its monthly Master Taster’s Club wine tasting Wednesday, Aug. 5, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Peabody Corner Bar, 149 Union Ave. The tasting will include four Tuscan wines and light bites prepared by Peabody chefs. Cost is $25; includes valet parking. RSVP to 901-529-4000.

The Metal Museum will host a reception for “Hollowware” and “A Kind of Confession” Friday, Aug. 7, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the museum, 374 Metal Museum Drive. “Hollowware” features unique handmade cups, bowls, boxes and containers, and “A Kind of Confession” showcases critical and contemporary metalwork from African-American artists.
