Details: The Harold Ford Funeral Chapel at 1670 Sycamore View Road in Northeast Memphis has filed a $2.6 million construction loan on the property.
Operating as Harold Ford Sycamore View LLC and Serenity Columbarium and Memorial Gardens LLC, the funeral home filed the loan Sept. 4 through Regions Bank.
Former U.S. Rep. Harold E. Ford Sr. signed the deed as member of both borrowing entities.
In April 2013, Harold Ford Sycamore View paid $1.8 million for the 38,487-square-foot former retail center from Belz Investco GP.
Ford, who represented Memphis in Washington for 22 years, announced last year a plan to open a funeral services business in the shopping center, including a chapel and a variety of options for funeral services.
Built in 1987, the Class B center sits on 6.2 acres near the intersection of Sycamore View Road and Summer Avenue. The Shelby County Assessor of Property’s 2014 appraisal is $1.7 million.
Several generations of the Ford family have worked in the funeral industry, including Ford, who along with his brothers and sisters worked in his father’s business, N.J. Ford and Sons Funeral Home in South Memphis.
Ford, who left Congress in 1996 and became a lobbyist, lives in Florida.

Details: The 20,336-square-foot, two-story office building at 1000 Brookfield Road in East Memphis has sold for $3.3 million.
David V. Couch bought the office property in a Sept. 8 warranty deed from MPTN LLC, which had acquired the building in 2010 for $2.7 million from High Point Developers.
The Class B building sits on 1.2 acres along the east side of Brookfield Road just south of its intersection with Poplar Avenue. The Shelby County Assessor of Property’s 2014 appraisal is $2.1 million.
Tenants in the 100 percent-occupied building include Mortgage Investors Group and Implant Dentistry of the Mid-South PLLC.
In conjunction with the purchase, Couch filed a $2.6 million real estate deed of trust through BancorpSouth Bank.

Details: The new owner of the BP gas station and convenience store at 7469 Dexter Road in unincorporated Northeast Shelby County near Cordova has filed a $1.4 million loan on the property.
Shah Investment LLC – which acquired the property in a Sept. 3 quitclaim deed from SBR Properties LLC – filed the deed of trust the same day through Renasant Bank.
Rahman Shah signed the deed as member of Shah Investment.
Built in 1998, the 2,275-square-foot gas station and convenience store sits on 1.1 acres at the southeast corner of Dexter and Appling roads. The Shelby County Assessor of Property’s 2014 appraisal is $640,800.

Details: The 14,305-square-foot Chuck E. Cheese’s restaurant at 1636 N. Germantown Parkway in Cordova has sold for $4.2 million.
Orlando, Fla.-based National Retail Properties LP bought the fast food property in an Aug. 25 special warranty deed from CEC Entertainment Inc. of Dallas. The seller had acquired the property in 2002 for $1 million.
Built in 2002, the restaurant sits on 2.3 acres along the east side of North Germantown Parkway south of its intersection with Dexter Road. The Shelby County Assessor of Property’s 2014 appraisal is $1.9 million.
No financing was associated with the purchase.
Chuck E. Cheese’s has two locations in the metro area – this one and one on Hickory Hill Road in Memphis.
