Churchill Joins Gateway Group

Natalie Churchill has joined Gateway Group Personnel as recruiting assistant for the temporary staffing division. In her new role, Churchill will source, qualify and interview candidates to place in positions ranging from accounting, administration (receptionists to executive administrative assistants), medical office, human resources and customer service.

Hometown: Southaven, Miss.

Experience: Graduated from the University of Memphis in 2010 with a BBA in marketing management; education program manager for National Hardwood Lumber Association; customer service for VersaTube Building Systems

What talent do you wish you had? I wish I could sing.

Who has had the greatest influence on you and why? My parents have had the greatest influence on me. They have always worked hard to provide for their family and plan for the future. They taught me what it means to be dependable, to have a great work ethic and to be grateful for everything that I have.

What attracted you to Gateway Group Personnel? The talented staff and the company culture attracted me to Gateway. Gateway has an experienced staff that takes pride in their work while maintaining a positive, supportive work environment. I feel fortunate to get to work alongside the best recruiters in the Memphis area.

What do you consider your greatest accomplishment? Being a member of the University of Memphis Pom Squad and winning the National College Dance Team Championship.

What do you most enjoy about your work? I enjoy getting to know our candidates and helping them find a quality career opportunity.

If you could give one piece of advice to young people, what would it be? One piece of advice I would give is to be aware of their social media presence. It’s always important to think twice before posting something to the internet that could be potentially damaging to your professional image.

Lisa S. Rivera has joined Bass, Berry & Sims PLC as a member of the litigation and health care fraud practice group. Rivera previously served as an assistant U.S. attorney with the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Tennessee for 13 years, with a focus on health care fraud for the past 10 years.

Jason Lee McKinney, chairman of Visible Music College’s music business department, has been named 2014 Artist of the Year by the Independent Country Music Association. In addition to the ICMA’s top honor, McKinney was awarded Song of the Year for “Dance With Me,” Album of the Year for “Troubadours, Vagabonds and Thieves” and Americana/Folk Artist of the Year.

Kristen Zemaitis, a member of Memphis Botanic Garden’s youth education department, has been awarded Educator of the Year for the State of Tennessee from the Tennessee Environmental Education Association. Zemaitis began working as a Memphis Botanic Garden camp assistant at the age of 16. After leaving Memphis for college, she returned to the garden as a full-time employee in 2000.



Emile J. David has been named associate vice chancellor of facilities administration for the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. David is a registered architect who previously worked as a staff architect in the Division of Facilities Planning at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

William Walsh III has been named interim chief of police for the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. A retired police officer, Walsh has been employed with the university since May 2012 and previously served as a captain for UTHSC campus police.

Karolina Grabowicz, a financial analyst at Mercer Capital, has been awarded the Accredited in Business Valuation credential from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. The ABV credential is granted to CPAs who demonstrate their experience through continuing education in business valuation and a written exam.
