Christie Slated to Visit Germantown Friday
By Bill Dries
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will be in Shelby County Friday, May 30, to raise money for Republican governors in the 2014 midterm elections and attend the opening of U.S. Sen. Lamar Alexander’s local campaign office.
Christie is chairman of the Republican Governors Association, and the Friday morning fundraiser for the association is a private event.
From there, Christie will attend the opening of Alexander’s campaign office in the Carrefour shopping center, at Poplar Avenue and Kirby Parkway.
By Friday afternoon, Christie will be campaigning with Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam in Nashville before speaking at the Tennessee Republican Party’s annual Statesmen’s Dinner.
