“I Choose Memphis” spotlights Memphians who are passionate about calling this community home. New Memphis Institute provides the profiles.

SIDDIQUI

Name: Sehrish Siddiqui

Job Title and Company: Attorney at Bass, Berry & Sims PLC

Length of time living in Memphis: 26 Years

Life history: I grew up in Germantown, where I reside today. I am a product of our public school system, having attended kindergarten through 12th grade at Riverdale Elementary and Germantown High School. Ever since graduating from Georgetown University’s Law Center in Washington, D.C., I’ve been practicing corporate law in Memphis. If I’m not at the office or acting the role of daughter or sister, you can find me doing community service or pro bono work for various nonprofits in town, taking a long run or planning my next outdoor adventure.

What can you find in Memphis that you can’t find anywhere else? Its people! The people of Memphis are amongst the most genuine, kindhearted and caring individuals I’ve come across.

Favorite building in Memphis? The Grindhouse. It’s been great for the city and the building’s technology and amenities are far ahead of many other stadiums in the country.

What connects you to the city? The common values I share with the residents of the city – family, service, faith and hope for an even better Memphis.

What do you find surprising about Memphis? As much as Memphis has grown, it still retains that “small town” feel. You’re bound to be linked to any Memphian by the first or second degree – and it’s still normal to have a meaningful conversation with a complete stranger.

What is your favorite outdoor activity? It’s a tie between running and skiing.
