Overton Square will hold a Thursdays Squared concert Thursday, July 31, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. in the Tower Courtyard at Trimble Place and Florence Street. The series continues through Aug. 28. Visit thursdayssquared.com for a schedule.

Remington College will host its “Cuts for Kids” program, offering free back-to-school haircuts for children 17 and younger, throughout August at its Memphis salon, 2741 Nonconnah Blvd. Parents who bring a donation of school supplies can also receive a free haircut, manicure or pedicure. Memphis Light, Gas and Water will host its annual Neighborhood Leaders Conference on Friday, Aug. 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Joyce M. Blackmon Training Center, 4949 Raleigh-LaGrange Road. This year’s conference, “Transforming Neighborhoods Through the Arts,” will also include a plenary workshop titled “Memphis Government 101.” Cost is $10 and includes breakfast and lunch.
