Nicholas J. Pierotti has joined Thomas Family Law Firm PLC as an attorney, marking the firm’s expansion to include probate issues. Pierotti, a third-generation attorney, joins founder Justin K. Thomas in the Memphis-based practice and will work with clients on both family law and probate matters, including wills and estates.

The sports teams you root for: Ole Miss Rebels, Memphis Grizzlies, New York Yankees

What’s playing on your stereo right now? The Eagles

What talent do you wish you had? I am always amazed at how Major League Baseball players can hit a 95 mph fastball. That would be a nice talent.

Who has had the greatest influence on you and why? My grandfather, Horace O. Pierotti. He was a young Italian immigrant who served his country bravely as a Marine during World War II. For many years, he was the honorary Italian consular agent in the Mid-South. Also, he is a retired prominent judge who graciously served Memphis for more than 24 years. He was awarded many honors, including the Presidential Unit Citation, Memphis Bar Association Criminal Section Outstanding Judge of the Year and Shelby County Sheriff’s Association Judge of the Year.

How does the addition of probate help the Thomas Family Law Firm? The addition of probate provides families with the options of arriving at a firm that encompasses all family law matters, including wills and estates.

What do you consider your greatest accomplishment? I consider practicing law a personal accomplishment to be able to carry on the tradition of the Pierotti name after decades of watching my father and grandfather devote their lives to the Memphis legal community.

What do you most enjoy about your work? Family law plays an integral part in our everyday lives. I am naturally close to my immediate family, so being able to help clients in difficult times has a personal meaning to me.

If you could give one piece of advice to young people, what would it be? Be strong-minded and always be prepared in life.
