Butler, Sevier, Hinsley & Reid PLLC law firm has expanded its presence at 88 Union Ave.

The law firm leased 4,600 square feet on the 13th floor of the Downtown office building in 2009. It recently expanded by another 2,300 square feet on the 11th floor, which included views of the Mississippi River.

“We were delighted to be able to stay in our original location,” said Susan Hinsley, one of the firm’s founding partners and practicing attorneys.

Butler, Sevier, Hinsley & Reid officials said the expansion was necessary because of employee growth and an expansion of services. Butler, Sevier, Hinsley & Reid, which focuses on a broad range of family law services, now has 10 attorneys and three staff members. This year, the firm will focus on an increased ability to conduct more mediation in family law. The firm currently has five Rule 31 mediators and several attorneys will be receiving their domestic violence mediation certification by the end of February.

Butler, Sevier, Hinsley & Reid partners are Hinsley, Lara Butler, Gail Sevier, Margaret Reid and Anne Johnson Mead. Associate attorneys include Elizabeth Yarbrough, Anne Davis, Anne Hamer McCarroll, Elizabeth Fyke and Lisa Gill.

The women’s re-sale store chain based in Minnesota has leased 5,000 square feet at 1717 N. Germantown Parkway in Cordova. Clothes Mentor offers women’s apparel, shoes, purses and accessories for as much as 70 percent below store prices.

“On any given day, the store will have over 17,000 items of merchandise available for purchase,” said Clothes Mentor Cordova owner Mike Thorn. “I know Cordova is a great location for this first-of-its-kind shopping experience.”

The store opened to buy gently used items on Jan. 20. Unlike most consignment stores, Clothes Mentor immediately pays for items it plans on selling in the store.

“Who doesn’t like some extra cash?” Thorn said. “Our philosophy is, if you are not wearing it, get cash for it.”

The grand opening date for women to start shopping at the store will be in early spring.
