Orgel Has Brewery Under Contract
By Andy Meek
(Daily News File/Andrew J. Breig)
Memphis businessman Billy Orgel has the Tennessee Brewery under contract to buy.
He told The Commercial Appeal he wants to preserve the structure and is open to any idea that helps accomplish that. But Orgel, a founder of Tower Ventures, is not answering any more questions for now.
Doug Carpenter & Associates principal Doug Carpenter released a statement on behalf of Orgel Monday. It reads:
“At this point, we are going to decline any further comment to the press, at least until the sale of the property has been finalized. We are currently in the middle of a conventional 90-day due diligence period. While there is great optimism about a sale moving forward, elaborating on the long-term vision for the Brewery would be premature at this time. We can say with certainty that there will be no reprisal of the ‘Brewery Untapped’ beer garden event this fall, despite some prior speculation to the contrary. We will be happy disclose additional information about our intentions for the Tennessee Brewery once the sale is complete.”
