Playhouse on the Square will present the regional premiere of “Mary Poppins” Friday, Aug. 15, through Sept. 7 at Playhouse, 66 S. Cooper St. Buy tickets at playhouseonthesquare.org.

Bardog Tavern and Breakaway Running will hold the fifth annual Breakway-Bardog 5K Sunday, Aug. 17, at 9 a.m. at Bardog, 73 Monroe Ave. The race will be followed by a street fair-style afterparty for runners, and the celebration opens to the public at noon.
