Williams Joins Del-Nat as Director of Finance

Ronnie Williams has joined Del-Nat Tire Corp. as director of finance. Williams, who has a 15-year background in finance and accounting, most recently served as director of finance at Health Choice LLC. In his new role, he will be responsible for finance and accounting functions and will direct operations to meet budget and financial goals.


Hometown: Memphis

Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Memphis, Master of Business Administration from Union University

Family: Jodi Williams, wife; four children: Abby, Allison, Jake and Alex

What’s playing on your stereo right now? Zac Brown Band

Activities you enjoy outside of work: Hunting, fishing and doing just about anything outside with my family. I also enjoy teaching accounting classes at night at the University of Memphis. I have found teaching to be a great way to give something back to my alma mater and my community.

What talent do you wish you had? I wish I could speak several foreign languages. In my new role, I will be dealing with individuals from Mexico to China. Having the ability to converse in Spanish and Mandarin Chinese would be a huge advantage.

Who has had the greatest influence on you and why? My grandfather had a great influence on me. He was a roofer and spent most days working in extreme conditions on rooftops. He never complained. He was thankful for what he had and was thankful for his family.

What attracted you to Del-Nat Tire Corp.? The senior leadership team is what attracted me to Del-Nat. The leadership has a great deal of integrity and focuses on its employees, its stockholders and the community.

What are your goals in your new position? My goal is to bring additional value to the Del-Nat organization from a financial perspective and provide greater returns for our stockholders.

What do you consider your greatest accomplishment? My greatest accomplishment would be my children. They are my true legacy. I am very proud of them and what they have accomplished in their lives.

If you could give one piece of advice to young people, what would it be? You never know as much as you think you know. There is always more to the story. Take the time to try and fill in the missing pieces.


Dr. Mauro Schenone has joined UT Medical Group’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and has been named assistant professor at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Schenone is a specialist in high-risk pregnancies.

Nick Scott has joined Flight Restaurant and Wine Bar as executive chef. Scott previously served as chef-partner at Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar and executive chef at Bluefin Edge Cuisine & Sushi Lounge.


Justin McDermott has joined Grinder Haizlip Construction as a project manager. In his new role, McDermott will provide support to management in overseeing commercial and industrial construction projects in the tri-state area.

Darla Keel has joined the University of Memphis Division of Communications, Public Relations and Marketing as the university’s webmaster. Keel most recently served as director of enterprise technical services as Arkansas State University. Meredith Powers and Jackie Rucker have joined as marketing managers. Powers previously worked at the University of Kentucky’s Gatton College of Business and Economics, and Rucker most recently worked with Baptist Memorial Health Care Corp.

Jim Isaacs and Keith Norman have been named to the Christian Brothers University board of trustees. Isaacs is president and CEO of Legacy Wealth Management. Norman is pastor of First Baptist Church and founder and principal officer of Greater Works Inc.

Hilton Garden Inn has been awarded two bronze Telly Awards in the Film/Video: Training for Corporate Use categories for its internal team-member engagement videos “You Can Count on Us Skills & Service” and “Project Grow.”

The Memphis chapter of The Association of Fundraising Professionals has named its National Philanthropy Day Crystal Awards winners. They are: Memphis Light, Gas and Water Division, outstanding corporation; R. Brad Martin Family Foundation, outstanding foundation; Rudi and Honey Scheidt, outstanding philanthropist; Charles and Judy Burkett, outstanding volunteer fundraiser; Nancy Williams of Memphis Child Advocacy Center, outstanding executive leader; Madison Dismuke and Lindsey Dismuke, spirit of philanthropy; and Phillip Matthew Aiken and Amber Bryan, youth in philanthropy.
