The hangar complex is part of the Smyrna/Rutherford County Airport Authority's 20-year development plan.

Airport Executive Director John Black told The Daily News Journal once the project is complete, it will give the airport the ability to attract new clients.

Rutherford County and the town of Smyrna supplied money totaling approximately $1.2 million, Black in bonds which will be repaid over 20 years.
