AARP Cordova chapter will meet Thursday, Nov. 21, at 11:30 a.m. at the Cordova branch library, 8457 Trinity Road. Nominations for 2014 officers will be taken. The event is open to the public.

Leadership Memphis will host Mandan Birla as part of its Ask-A-Leader series Thursday, Nov. 21, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Leadership Memphis gallery, 363 S. The Marcus W. Orr Center for the Humanities at the University of Memphis will host a lecture titled “British Israelism: Three Centuries of a Forgotten History,” presented by Achsah Guibbory of Barnard College, Thursday, Nov. 21, at 5:30 p.m. in the University Center theater, 499 University St. Cost is free.
