Shelby County District Attorney General Amy Weirich has appointed Carter Myers as Deputy District Attorney to fill the position recently held by John Campbell.

Campbell was appointed Division 6 Shelby County Criminal Court judge on Nov. 2 by Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam.

Myers, a prosecutor in the office since late 1977, comes to the No. 2 position in the office from being administrative assistant of the office’s grand jury section since 1991.

Weirich also announced Friday, Nov. 9, that she has appointed assistant district attorney Johnny McFarland as the new administrative assistant for the grand jury section.

McFarland has worked in the grand jury section with Myers since 1999. He has been with the District Attorney General’s office since 1988.

Myers and McFarland are both graduates of the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law.
