The University of Memphis will host a lecture by Nigel Strudwick, U of M art history professor and former curator in the Department of Ancient Egypt and Sudan at the British Museum in London, Thursday, March 15, at 7 p.m. in the University Center Fountain View Suite, room 350. The lecture is titled “Capturing Ancient Egyptian Art: Norman and Nina de Garis Davies.” The lecture is free and open to the public. A reception will be held at 6:30 p.m.

The Oakland Regional Chamber of Commerce will host Gala 2012 Saturday, March 17, from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Carahills II, 1960 U.S. 70.
