Fulton Accounting Firm Gets Rebrand and New Owner

By Andy Meek

Fulton CPAs is a full-service accounting firm that has a new name and is under new ownership.

Previously known as Polsgrove & Fulton, the firm initiated a rebrand in the fall that included the new name after owner and CEO Lynn Fulton assumed full ownership of the business.

Fulton specializes in virtual accounting, a Web-based solution that enables the company to operate as an onsite accountant, but for a fraction of the cost. With the organization’s remote controller services, clients also have the ability to access their account from any computer or iPad.

The company employs eight professionals, including Certified Quickbooks ProAdvisors, an IT expert and several experienced accountants.

Fulton’s new tagline – “Your Business. Appreciated” – reflects the company’s mission to put its services into the hands of business owners. And the organization’s remote controller and Cloud9 Technology service offerings are more indicative of the evolving role of virtual services for the accounting industry.

An open house at the business, at 3100 Appling Rd., will be held Dec. 19 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

“Our new branding and strategy, we’ve solidified it in the last few months with the change,” said Fulton, who’s also chairman of the NFIB’s tax advisory board for the state of Tennessee. “We are essentially an outsourced controller for small businesses.

“We provide cloud services for our clients if they so desire, which opens up a lot of potential for us to save them some money by providing services for them they would not normally be able to afford or hire someone to do,” Fulton said. “Because they wouldn’t have a full-time need for someone.”

Other benefits the company offers clients include reduced payroll cost and overhead, better security and more internal company privacy and automatic backups. Fulton also does quarterly integrated business and personal tax planning and reporting.

The company’s virtual services serve as a live feed between the firm and each client. The technology also features training tool capabilities, live answers to bookkeeping and tax questions and access to Microsoft Office 2010.

“Our services are the perfect fit for businesses that lack the expertise, experience or personnel needed to handle financial and tax needs,” Fulton said. “Most small to mid-sized businesses aren’t able to afford a full accounting staff, but we allow business owners to focus on their business while we handle the details and ensure that federal, state and local tax deadlines are met.”
