The Memphis Fisk Alumni Club will host the General Alumni Association’s southern regional conference Friday, Sept. 16, through Sunday, Sept. 18, at The Peabody hotel, 149 Union Ave. The conference will begin Friday from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. with the premiere of the documentary “Last Championship Teams.” Workshops will be held throughout Saturday. The Sickle Cell Foundation of Tennessee will hold its Fifth Annual 5K Run-Walk Saturday, Sept. 17, at AutoZone Park, 200 Union Ave. Registration begins at 8 a.m., the 5K walk begins at 9 a.m. and the one-mile fun run begins at 9:10 a.m. The post-run celebration begins at 10:30 a.m. Shirts will be given to anyone who donates $20 or more.
