Rhodes College will present “‘The Death and Life of Great American Cities’: Fifty Years Later” Monday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m. in the Blount Auditorium on campus. The free event will feature a panel discussion of Jane Jacobs’ 1961 book “The Death and Life of Great American Cities.” A reception will follow. For more information, email jacksonj@rhodes.edu.

The Better Business Bureau of the Mid-South will hold its breakfast series with Dotty Summerfield Guisti of Summerfield Associates Inc., speaking on “The Power of Networking” Tuesday, Nov. 15, from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the BBB, 3693 Tyndale Drive. Cost is free for BBB-accredited businesses and $10 for guests.

First Tennessee Advisory Services will host a presentation by Marcia Wagner of the Wagner Law Firm about federal changes affecting pensions and 401(k) plans Tuesday, Nov. 15, at 8 a.m. at the Racquet Club of Memphis, 5111 Sanderlin Ave. The event is free and open to the public, but seating is limited. The Downtown Memphis Commission and 5R Processors Ltd. will celebrate America Recycles Day with a Downtown e-Recycle Drive Tuesday, Nov. 15, from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Central Station pavilion, 545 S. Main St. Accepted items include computers, televisions, printers, cameras, cellphones, VCRs and CD/DVD players. There is a $25 processing fee for items that contain Freon. CSI Memphis Chapter will hold a special luncheon field trip to Wholesale Glass Distributors dba WGD Memphis Thursday, Nov. 17, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 4287 Delp St. The lunch and tour will show the fabrication processes for glass-cutting, insulated panel fab, heat-tempering glass and custom glass doors for commercial and residential.
