The Center City Commission Diversity Committee will meet Friday, June 17, at 11 a.m. at 114 N. Main St.

The Rotary Club of Memphis Central will meet Friday, June 17, from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Holiday Inn University of Memphis, 3700 Central Ave. Cato Johnson, senior vice president of corporate affairs for Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare, will speak about health care reform. The Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library will host its 10th Anniversary Community Birthday Party Saturday, June 18, from noon to 2 p.m. at the library, 3030 Poplar Ave. It is free and open to the public and will include performances by Stax Academy and New Ballet Ensemble, as well as appearances by Anne and Sean Tuohy and Josh Pastner. Radio personality Stan Bell will serve as master of ceremonies.

The Memphis Botanic Garden will present Great Gardens of the World – Yu Gardens, Shanghai, China, Sunday, June 19, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Garden, 750 Cherry Road. Laura Edwards will present photographs and history of one of the oldest gardens in China. Cost is $5 for members and $7 for nonmembers. For more information or to register, call 636-4128.

Visible Music College and the Cooper Young Business Association will present Visible Live, a free, live concert featuring Visible students, alumni and staff, Monday, June 20, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the corner of Cooper Street and Young Avenue. The Levitt Shell will hold free concerts as part of its summer kids concert series Tuesday, June 21, at 10:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. at the Levitt Shell in Overton Park, 1930 Poplar Ave. The New Ballet Ensemble will perform.

The Lipscomb Pitts Breakfast Club will present Executive Lunch with Memphis Grantmakers Forum Tuesday, June 21, from noon to 1 p.m. at Baptist Memorial Health Care Corp. corporate offices, 350 N. Humphreys Blvd. The lunch will feature various local members of the Grantmakers Forum, discussing how they are bringing corporate givers, foundations and philanthropists together to share best practices and be proactive with giving in Memphis.
