Courts Taking Comments on Commission Applicants

NASHVILLE (AP) – Tennessee's Administrative Office of the Courts is taking public comments on the applicants for the state's Judicial Nominating Commission.

The commission reviews applications for vacancies on the appellate and state trial courts and makes recommendations to the governor.

The names of the 33 people who have applied for the post, as well as their applications, are available at www.tncourts.gov .

The public may submit comments through Aug. 15.

Once public comments have been received, Lt. Gov. Ron Ramsey will have 14 days to appoint a new commissioner.
