Rainey Kizer Names Waddell Partner

Amanda C. Waddell has been named a partner at Rainey, Kizer, Reviere & Bell PLC. Waddell’s practice is concentrated in the areas of medical malpractice, auto liability and insurance coverage.
Prior to joining the firm, Waddell practiced in Hattiesburg, Miss., for eight years in mass tort medical device/pharmaceutical defense and medical malpractice. She received her juris doctorate from the University of Mississippi and is licensed to practice in Tennessee and Mississippi.
T. Gaillard Uhlhorn V and Kristen C. Wright have been elected to membership at Bass, Berry & Sims PLC. Uhlhorn concentrates his practice in the areas of real estate, financial transactions and real estate capital markets. Wright focuses her practice on complex commercial and bankruptcy litigation, emphasizing the areas of commercial and banking, intellectual property and technology, and business restructuring and bankruptcy.
Jodie Brockman has joined MBI as controller. Prior to this role, Brockman served as a senior audit associate at Thompson Dunavant and as an auditor for KPMG in Alaska.
Dr. Jeffrey S. Lowe has been appointed the associate director of the Mid-Sized Cities Policy Research Institute by the University of Memphis’ Graduate Program in City and Regional Planning in the School of Urban Affairs and Public Policy. Lowe will be responsible for developing the research agenda, public program and conference schedule.
Dr. Solomon S. Solomon has been awarded the Founder’s Medal by the Southern Society for Clinical Investigation. The award is the highest honor for research and academic achievement conferred by the society. Solomon is chief of endocrinology at Memphis Veterans Affairs Medical Center and professor of medicine and pharmacology at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.
Tom Alexander has joined Agape Child & Family Services as director of operations. Louvadie King has been named director of clinical services. Clark Short has been named director of Agape’s Jackson, Tenn., office. Lori Humber has been named volunteer coordinator.
Destination King has won Best Destination Marketing at the annual Association of Destination Management Executives. Destination King won for its work securing, planning, marketing and executing the annual meeting of Global Event Planners. Also, Destination King’s Kevin Brewer has been inducted as the president of the ADME.
Ben Smith, owner of Tsunami, has been named the Distinguished Restaurateur of the Year by The Memphis Restaurant Association. Kenneth Neill, publisher and chief executive officer of Contemporary Media Inc., has been named Distinguished Associate Member of the Year.
Shannon Tacker has been named vice president of adult multispecialty services at UT Medical Group Inc. Tacker was previously vice president of revenue services, analysis and decision support. Cassandra Taylor-Wilson has been named vice president for corporate compliance and contract administration. Taylor-Wilson previously served as director of contract and legal services.
Joshua Pursley has joined Disciple Design as a graphic designer. Pursley will be responsible for managing print design projects and contributing to the programming and designing of interactive Web site projects.
Jo Garner has joined Evolve Bank and Trust as a mortgage loan officer. Garner also is the founder of the Talk Shoppe events at the Better Business Bureau of the Mid-South.
Dr. Jimmy E. Albright and Dr. Tommy G. Roebuck have been honored as Outstanding Alumni by the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry Alumni Association for their distinguished contributions to the dentistry field.
