Colvett Named Greenscape President

Frank Colvett Jr. has been promoted to president of GreenScape Inc.

Colvett previously was executive vice president and corporate treasurer. He has been at GreenScape since 1992 and has served in various capacities including project manager, estimator and vice president of marketing.

His civic and community activities including serving as treasurer of the Tennessee Republican Party, and as a member of St. George’s Episcopal Church and the University Club of Memphis.

T. Gaillard Uhlhorn V and Kristin C. Wright have been elected members at Bass, Berry & Sims PLC. Uhlhorn concentrates his practice in real estate, financial transactions and real estate capital markets. Wright focuses her practice on complex commercial and bankruptcy litigation, emphasizing the areas of commercial and banking, intellectual property and technology, and business restructuring and bankruptcy.

Four Butler, Snow, O’Mara, Stevens & Cannada PLLC attorneys have been included in the Top 50 “Memphis Area Super Lawyers 2009.” They are Charles C. Harrell, Frank M. Holbrook, David P. Jaqua and Randall D. Noel. Michael P. Coury and Noel also were named to “BusinessTN’s” list of Best 150 Lawyers 2010.

Anthony G. Johnson has been appointed regional resource parent advocate for Shelby County.

Howard A. Silver has been appointed to the board of directors of Education Realty Trust Inc. Silver also will serve on the board’s compensation, nominating and corporate governance committees. Silver was the president and chief executive officer of Equity Inns Inc. from 1994 until its sale to Whitehall Global Real Estate Funds in 2007.

MBI has been certified as a Women’s Business Enterprise by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council.

Mary W. Sharp of Crye-Leike has graduated from the Northwest Mississippi Association of Realtors Leadership Class of 2009. Sharp assists buyers in Shelby, Fayette and DeSoto counties.

Marya Green has joined DAC as the new director of marketing and will be based in the club’s Southaven location. Green will be responsible for creating and executing internal and external marketing and advertising strategies for the DAC and DAC Fitness brands. She also will oversee all of DAC’s public relations and social media initiatives.

Bill Freeman has joined Paragon National Bank as a commercial lender. Freeman has more than 13 years of experience in banking. His previous positions have included senior business banker, construction lender, branch manager and personal banker.

John Robinson has been named 2009 Associate of the Year at Southland Park Gaming & Racing. Estell Wilson has been named 2009 Leader of the Year. Robinson is a housekeeper at Southland. Wilson is director of food and beverage.

Ken Stonebrook has joined Stonebrook Realtors, which belongs to a family member. Stonebrook is a recipient of several real estate awards and is a life member of the Multi-Million Dollar Sales Club. Prior to his real estate career, Stonebrook served as an executive for M.S. Carriers for 20 years.

The Vascular Diagnostic Laboratory at UT Medical Group Inc. has earned a three-year accreditation from the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories. The accreditation was awarded for extracranial cerebrovascular testing, peripheral venous testing and peripheral arterial testing.

Kelly English, owner and chef of Restaurant Iris, has been recognized as a semifinalist for the James Beard Foundation Award for Best Chef of the Southeast.

Marka Bennett recently won the Early Childhood category at the Ruby R. Wharton Awards Ceremony. Bennett was recognized for her leadership and work through Agape Child & Family Services as a board member, chair of Agape’s annual gala and various other areas of service during the past 11 years.
