Visible School Names Ellis To Modern Music Ministry Faculty

Bill Ellis
Bill Ellis has been hired to the Visible School faculty in the Modern Music Ministry program.
Ellis will teach guitar, the history of pop music and hands-on courses in world music and ethnomusicology.
Ellis is a blues musician and writer. He worked for nine years as a music journalist at The Commercial Appeal.
Ellis is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College – Conservatory of Music with a Master of Music in classical guitar. He also serves on the board of governors for The Recording Academy Memphis Chapter.
Cory A. Brown, Michael Burnett Joiner and Joshua B. Dougan have joined Rainey, Kizer, Reviere & Bell PLC as associates. Brown will focus his practice in the areas of transactional health care law and business and commercial law. Joiner will practice in the areas of litigation, employment law, insurance coverage and general insurance defense. Dougan will practice in the areas of tort and insurance defense and workers’ compensation.

Jameson Dylan King has joined the Memphis office of Ford & Harrison LLP.
The Lumbermen’s Club of Memphis has named new officers for 2010. They are Thomas E. Wilson, president; Preston F. Padgett, first vice president; Elsie B. Starr, secretary-treasurer; and Tom Hibdon, director. Also, Joe Hyrka, past president, has received the 2009 J.S.P. Wilson Award in recognition of his personal integrity, leadership and service to the industry.
Dr. Edward J. Stanford has been elected to the board of trustees of AAGL, formerly known as the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists. Stanford is division head of gynecologic services and female pelvic medicine and reconstructive pelvic surgery at UT Medical Group Inc. and the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.

Laurie M. Thornton has received the third annual Frank J. Glankler Jr. Pro Bono Award given by James S. Gilliland and Glankler Brown PLLC. This is the second consecutive year Thornton has received this award. Thornton concentrates her practice in residential and commercial real estate law.
