Evolve Bank & Trust has named Lewis E. Holland to its board of directors.
Holland served six years as president of the regional investment banking firm UMIC Inc., and after its sale in 1988 became a partner at the Memphis office of Ernst & Young LLP.
Holland joined the former National Commerce Financial Corp. where he served seven years as president of financial enterprise businesses as well as vice chairman, chief financial officer and treasurer of the parent corporation.
Prior to his retirement in 2009, Holland served as president and chief operating officer of Henry Turley Co. Holland serves as a member of the board of directors of Buckeye Technologies Inc. and as a director of Morgan Keegan Financial Products and USA Alliance.
J. David Blaylock of Glankler Brown PLLC has been named to BusinessTN magazine’s The Best 150 Lawyers in Tennessee list. Blaylock was recognized for his work in bankruptcy.
Bill Day recently was honored at the 27th Annual National Press Foundation Award Dinner for his work as an editorial cartoonist. Day received special citation for his work addressing the growing rate of infant mortality in the United States. He is a five-time winner of Green Eyeshade awards from the Society of Professional Journalists and a recipient of the Robert F. Kennedy Award. Day’s cartoons are syndicated in newspapers and magazines worldwide.
The Germantown Area Chamber of Commerce has awarded Dazzle its Small Business of the Year Award for one to five employees. More Than Words received the Small Business of the Year Award for six to 25 employees. Baptist Rehabilitation-Germantown received the Large Business of the Year Award for 26 or more employees. Annette Jordan of Memphis Staging received the Rob Edgerton Ambassador of the Year Award.
Archie Shelton has joined the Germantown office of Shoemaker Financial as an associate. Shelton will focus on accounting/finance, sales and information technology.
Leslie O’Leary of Keller Williams Realty has been recognized by the Tennessee Association of Realtors as a graduate with distinction and an honored member of the 2009 class of leadership TAR. O’Leary also has earned the newest National Association of Realtors designation for Short Sale & Foreclosure Resource Certification.
Laura O. House has joined Trezevant Manor as assistant to the resident services director. Prior to joining Trezevant, House served in various roles at the Chickasaw Country Club and most recently as social director.
Kevin Brewer, founding partner and chief operating officer of Destination King, has been named president-elect of the Association of Destination Management Executives and will serve a one-year term. Mary Catherine Tagg, events services manager for Destination King, has been named a finalist in the ADME’s Destination Management Industry Rising Star category.
Jon Summers has been promoted to the senior association level at the Memphis office of TRO Jung/Brannen. Armando Sobalvarro and Hans Faulhaber have been promoted to associates. Summers leads the health care planning for the Memphis office. Sobalvarro has 13 years of project management and architectural experience. Faulhaber heads the construction administration and quality control aspects of the firm.
