Pera Appointed Special Adviser For ABA Strategic Communications Committee

Lucian Pera of Adams and Reese LLP has been appointed as a special adviser of the American Bar Association’s Standing Committee on Strategic Communications for a one-year term.
Pera has served as a member of the ABA’s Special Commission on Evaluation of Rules of Professional Conduct for five years. He has chaired the ABA’s Section of Business Law’s Committee on Professional Conduct and the Tennessee Bar Association’s Standing Committee on Ethics and Professional Responsibility.
Pera currently serves as secretary of the Association of Professional Responsibility Lawyers.

Cy Sturdivant has joined Reynolds, Bone & Griesbeck PLC Certified Public Accountants as technology consultant for the firm’s Consulting Services Group. Sturdivant has earned the Certified Information Systems Auditor designation.
Ten attorneys of Thomason, Hendrix, Harvey, Johnson & Mitchell PLLC have been selected for inclusion in the 2010 edition of The Best Lawyers in America. They are Albert C. Harvey, J. Justin Lubin has been named vice president of the commercial real estate services division at Makowsky Ringel Greenberg LLC. Lubin will oversee leasing, management and brokerage of the company’s commercial properties. He began his career at Makowsky Ringel Greenberg more than 17 years ago.
Dr. Edward Evans has joined Memphis Heart Clinic. Evans is an interventional and consultative cardiologist and was previously in private practice in Southaven for 10 years. Evans is board certified in internal medicine, adult cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology and nuclear cardiology. He has served as past president of the DeSoto Medical Society and the Memphis Cardiovascular Society. He currently serves as vice president of the Baptist DeSoto Medical Staff.
Metropolitan Inter-Faith Association has elected five new members to its board of directors. They are Jordan Barre, Mark Finestone, Kojo McLennon, Cathy Polk Van Leit and Blanchard Tual. Officers for fiscal year 2010 are Price Ford, chair; Jef Feibelman, vice chair; Judy Royal, secretary; Ward Mayer, treasurer; and Milton Lovell, legal counsel.
Anita Bell of Crye-Leike Realtors has been named the 2009 Realtor of the Year by the Crittenden County Board of Realtors. Her selection was based on her community involvement and service to the local board of Realtors. Bell is a managing broker based at the company’s West Memphis/Marion branch office.
Mary Lynn Carver has joined St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as senior vice president of public relations. Carver comes to Memphis from London, where she was global head of group internal communications at AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals’ world headquarters. In her new role, Carver will oversee communications strategy and the management of public relations activities for St. Jude. Carver’s experience includes a focus on oncology, scientific public relations, public affairs and marketing communications. She is a graduate of Southern Methodist University in Dallas.

Nick Durham has joined ModernTech AEC as regional account manager for West Tennessee and Mississippi. Durham previously worked at Dell Inc. and Whirlpool Corp. ModernTech is a solutions provider specializing in the architectural, engineering and construction industries.
