The Engineers’ Club of Memphis Inc. will hold its weekly luncheon today at noon at the Holiday Inn-University of Memphis, 3700 Central Ave. Bob Sweeney will speak on the topic “Greece, Origin of the Olympics.” Cost is $12.

Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn., will be the keynote speaker when the University of Memphis’ Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law Alumni Chapter honors four of the legal community’s “Pillars of Excellence.” Seats are $75 per person, $600 for a table of eight and $35 for members of the class of 2008.
