The University of Tennessee Health Science Center will host its seventh annual Dean's Symposium today from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library, 3030 Poplar Ave. Dr. Marion Dugdale, professor of hematology, and Dr. Gabor Tigyi, professor of physiology, will be featured speakers.


The Court Appointed Special Advocates of Memphis will hold "Kickin' it for CASA," a kickball event to raise money for CASA in honor of Child Abuse Prevention Month, Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Willow Park, 4971 Willow Road. The Memphis Bar Association Access to Justice Committee will hold its monthly free Saturday Legal Clinic Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at First Congregational Church, 1000 S. The Cultural Development Foundation of Memphis will present Grammy Award-winning jazz vocalist Nancy Wilson to kick off "Breaking Bread, Breaking Barriers," an event honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Saturday at 8 p.m. at The Cannon Center for the Performing Arts, 255 N.
