Jefferson Manor Sells For $1.33 Million
Jefferson Manor LLC has bought Jefferson Manor Apartments at 2024-2068 Jefferson Ave. from Richard C. Moore for $1.33 million. Built in 1945, the complex includes 62 units in 15 buildings totaling 34,320 square feet. It's on the north side of Jefferson Avenue between North Rembert and North Cooper streets. The buyer financed the purchase with a $1.13 million mortgage through Bank Star of the Bootheel.
Electronic Tax Filings Up Statewide
Tennessee tax filers are turning to the Web in droves this year to get their returns in to Uncle Sam. So far this tax filing season, Tennesseans have e-filed more than 320,000 tax returns online, up from about 265,000 during the same period last year. Nationwide, 47 million tax returns have been e-filed, more than 13 million of those from home computers.
DeSoto Honda Plans Move to Olive Branch
DeSoto Honda is scheduled to move from its 6910 Snowden Lane location in Southaven to Olive Branch by November. The dealership now will be called Olive Branch Honda and will occupy 3.782 acres on the south side of Goodman Road west of Davidson Road. The new store and warehouse will have nearly 60,000 square feet.
2-1-1 Service to Reach Across Tennessee
The Tennessee Regulatory Authority has approved a petition to invest $400,000 in statewide startup costs for a community services referral line. By mid-summer, Tennesseans in all 95 counties should be able to call 2-1-1 to get referrals for such things as counseling, domestic violence, employment assistance, food, shelter and crisis intervention. The line already is up and running in 36 counties. By the middle of the summer, coverage will be expanded to Memphis and other cities.
