BNSF Railway Buys Cargill Property
BNSF Railway Co. has purchased 17.82 acres at 4943 Stepherson Road from Cargill Inc. for $16 million. The property contains a 74,981-square-foot industrial warehouse built in 1976. The land is located on the north side of Stepherson Road and extends to the Frisco Railroad line.
Evolve Financial Group Acquires Parkin Bancorp
Memphis-based Evolve Financial Group Inc. has completed the acquisition of Parkin Bancorp Inc. and subsidiary First State Bank. Following its acquisition, Parkin, Ark.-based First State Bank's name will be changed to Evolve Bank. First State Bank currently has branches in Parkin and West Memphis, Ark. EFG might add branches in Wynne and Marion, Ark., and will likely seek to expand into the Memphis area.
St. Jude Expands Research Initiatives
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital has appointed three nationally renowned investigators to faculty positions to bolster research aimed at increasing survival rates of children with cancer. Dr. Douglas R. Green will head the Department of Immunology, Dr. Rodney Kiplin Guy will head a new Department of Chemical Biology and Therapeutics and Dr. Leslie L. Robison will head a new Department of Epidemiology and Cancer Control.
Spring Creek Ranch Announces Partnership
The Meyer family - owners of Spring Creek Ranch, located near Collierville-Arlington and Raleigh-LaGrange roads - has announced that Stanford Financial Group has become a full partner in the Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course and surrounding property. The Meyer family and Stanford Financial Group each retain 50 percent ownership. Boyle Investment Co. continues to oversee development of the surrounding residential community.
