Memphis Bar Names 2005 Officers, Directors
The Memphis Bar Association announced the election of the following 2005 officers: Susan M. Clark, president; Barbara Zoccola, vice president; David Cook, treasurer; and Amy Amundsen, secretary. Newly elected board of directors members are: Tim DiScenza, Jef Feibelman, Bill Jeter, Herman Morris, Caren Nichol, Paul Prather, Art Quinn and Irma Russell. In addition, Stuart Breakstone, Alan Crone and Jim Lenschau were appointed as section representatives. The Memphis Bar Association announced the following award recipients: Delisa F. Eddings, W. J. Michael Cody Pro Bono Attorney of the Year award; Leslie G. Coleman, Sam A. Myar Jr. Memorial Award; and Charles M. Crump, Judge Jerome Turner Lawyers Lawyer Award. The Association for Women Attorneys announced the election of the following officers: Mary McGinnis, president; Judge Kay Spalding Robilio, president-elect; Tomeka Hart, vice president; Jennifer Hagerman, secretary; and Fran Riley, treasurer. In addition, the AWA presented Susan M. Clark the Marion-Griffin Frances Loring Award. The Shelby County Sheriffs Office announced the following promotions: Steve Crouch, inspector; Bill Sears and Terry Yarbrough, captain; and Gloria White, Cecil Booker, Ernest Long and Jackie Setliff, lieutenant. Jennifer Summerlin Hobson joined Stokes, Bartholomew, Evans & Petree as an associate. Hobson earned a bachelors degree from the University of Mississippi and a law degree from the University of Memphis. The Association of American Medical Colleges awarded Dr. Terrance G. Cooper a distinguished service award. Cooper is the Harriet S. Van Vleet Professor in the University of Tennessees Department of Molecular Sciences. The International Society of Nurses in Genetics honored Dr. Ann Cashion, associate professor at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Nursing, with the Founders Award. Cashion is director of the universitys College of Nursing Center for Health Evaluation Lifestyle Promotion, or HELP. Tennessee Gov. Phil Bredesen made the following judicial appointments: Shelby County Attorney Paula Skahan, Division 1 Criminal Court, and Assistant Shelby County Public Defender W. Mark Ward, Division 9 Criminal Court. Seth M. McNamee joined Husch & Eppenberger as an associate attorney. McNamee earned a law degree from the University of Memphis. Lenore Warr joined Husch & Eppenbergers land use development and financing practice group. Previously, Warr served as in-house counsel for AutoZone Inc. She earned a law degree from the University of Memphis. Memphis Business Interiors hired the following new designers: Suzanne Bach, Kristen Carter and Lindsay Keller. Butler, Snow, OMara, Stevens & Cannada announced that the following attorneys were chosen for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America 2005-2006: Grady M. Garrison and Shellie G. McCain Jr. Melody Dycus Caldwell, manager of the Covington office of Hamilton-Ryker Co., was named president of a new affiliate company, Hamilton-Ryker of Covington LLC. Jana Gilbertson was named membership coordinator and development assistant for Memphis Botanic Garden. Dr. Barrett G. Haik was elected to the Board of Regents of the American College of Surgeons. Haik is a Hamilton professor in ophthalmology and chair of the University of Tennessee Department of Ophthalmology.
