July 22 WEVL FM 90s 12th annual "Blues on the Bluff," featuring Sid Selvidge, The Mason Ruffner Band and the Daddy Mack Blues Band, convenes on the grounds of the National Ornamental Metal Museum, 374 Metal Museum Drive, on South Bluffs. Gates opens at 6 p.m. for the fund-raiser. Guests may bring blankets and chairs, but pets and coolers should be left at home. Bayou Bar and Grill will sell catfish sandwiches, red beans and rice, gumbo and more, with a portion of proceeds going to WEVL volunteer radio. Tickets are $7 for adults and half price for children under 12 years old. The Committee of Blind Vendors will meet at the Marriott, 2625 Thousand Oaks Blvd., from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., to review administrative decisions affecting the overall operation of the vending program facility. Upcoming events: July 26-29 Baptist Minor Medical Center, Olive Branch, Miss., will host the Congregational Nursing Symposium for experienced practitioners. This course is open to registered nurses with a bachelor of science in nursing degree or masters degree who wish to provide non-invasive care to those in their spiritual community. Front St., will host the Friends of the Library book sale from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the second floor. The sale offers books, videos and music. Proceeds from the sale go toward the Friends of the Librarys $1 million commitment to the new Central Library Project, also known as Project: InfoHUB. July 28 The Juvenile Diabetes Foundations second annual wine tasting, "Discover a Taste of the Pacific Rim," begins at 7 p.m. in the lobby of Pembroke Square in Peabody Place. In addition to fine wines, JDF will have hors doeuvres, live jazz and a wine auction beginning at 9 p.m. Advance tickets are $35, and $40 at the door.
