The opening reception is 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. June 2. The show is 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. June 3 and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 4. A gallery show of ceramic art will be set up in the hall of the civic center during June. Members of the Memphis Potters Guild will display exhibition pieces for sale. The show features works in porcelain, stoneware and earthenware, encompassing a broad spectrum of ceramic objects, including sculptural vessels, jewelry, utilitarian pottery and one-of-a-kind pieces. Registration for summer classes at State Technical Institute continue through May 29 at the colleges main campus, 5983 Macon Cove. State Tech offers a 10-week term and two five-week terms with classes meeting at a variety of locations. The 10-week terms ends August 8. The first five-week term ends July 2, and the second August 8.
