The Germantown Area Chamber of Commerce will hold a general membership luncheon Thursday at 11:15 a.m. at the Germantown Country Club, 1780 Kimbrough Road. Andrew Clarksenior of News Radio 600 WREC will speak. For reservations, call 755-1200.

Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz PC will present “Beware the Cat’s Paw: The Dangers of Bad Supervisors,” Thursday from noon to 1 p.m. at the law firm’s office, 165 Madison Ave., 20th floor. The briefing will focus on the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling that makes it easier for employers to be liable for discrimination even if the employers’ decisions weren’t motivated by discriminatory intent. The Madison Hotel will kick off its Sunset Atop the Madison series Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at the hotel, 79 Madison Ave. Elmo & The Shades will perform, and the evening will include drinks and a special menu.
