Agape Child & Family Services will hold its annual Kids Classic Golf Tournament Monday at noon at TPC Southwind, 3325 Club at Southwind. Teams of four are $1,600 and individuals are $400. The Rajun Cajun Crawfish Scramble is Monday at 1 p.m. at Ridgeway Country Club, 9800 Poplar Ave. All proceeds from the four-person golf scramble will benefit Porter-Leath. Methodist South Hospital will open its farmers market Monday at with a consecration service at 1 p.m. in front of the Medical Office Complex, 1251 Wesley Drive. The farmers market will open to the public every Monday through Oct. 10 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. For more information, call 516-3580.

The Department of Physics at Rhodes College will present a panel discussion on “Understanding the Nuclear Situation in Japan” Monday at 4 p.m. in lecture room A of the Frazier Jelke Building on campus. The event is free and open to the public.

WKNO/Channel 10 will present a sit-down interview with Beth Halteman Harwell, Tennessee Republican representative of Davidson County’s District 56 and Speaker of the House of the 2011 General Assembly Monday at 9:30 p.m. on WKNO/Channel 10. The interview also will air statewide on Tennessee’s other five public television stations.

The University of Memphis’ River City Writers Series will welcome novelist, short story writer and essayist Madison Smartt Bell Monday and Tuesday. Bell will read from his work Monday at 8 p.m. in the University Center Bluff Room on campus and will give interviews Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in Patterson Hall, room 456.
