The Crescent Club Growth Strategies Group will meet Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Crescent Club, 6075 Poplar Ave. Philip Johnson and Tom Merriam, partners at Argyle Benefits Consultants, will speak. Cost is $15 for members and $20 for nonmembers. For reservations, call 684-1010.

The Rotary Club of Memphis Central will meet Friday from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Chickasaw Country Club, 3395 Galloway Ave. The meeting will include the annual character achievement awards honoring local teens who have overcome adversity. The Brooks Museum of Memphis will host Brooks Uncorked Friday at 7 p.m. at the museum, 1934 Poplar Ave. The evening will include food from local restaurants, more than 60 different wines, a silent auction and live musical entertainment from DJ Raiford. For more information, call 544-6209.

The Memphis Challenge Inc. will present its second Health Careers Symposium Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Baptist Educators Center at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis, 6019 Walnut Grove. The event is titled “Exploring Options for Optimum Success” and will give students insight into educational and career opportunities in allied health.

The Ninth Annual Southern Hot Wing Contest and Festival will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on South Main Street in the South Main Historic Arts District. The festival will include a cook-off, live music, silent auction, wing-eating contest and beverages. The event will benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of Memphis. Admission is $10. Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital will host the fourth annual Big Wig Ball Saturday at 8 p.m. at Minglewood Hall, 1555 Madison Ave. The evening will include entertainment by Seeing Red, food from local restaurants, beer and wine.
