The University of Memphis will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the grand opening of the new University Center today at 10 a.m. The day will include the opening of Tiger Dining’s Union Food Court and later, music and entertainment from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Councilman Shea Flinn will hold a public meeting Tuesday at 4 p.m. in the Memphis City Council Chambers, 125 N. Main St. Flinn will discuss the mandatory spay/neuter laws and alternatives. The meeting audio will also be streamed live and archived on the Memphis City Council website.
