The Memphis Animal Shelter Advisory Board will meet today at 10 a.m. in the second floor conference room of City Hall, 125 N. Main St. Mayor A C Wharton Jr. will attend.

The Greater Memphis Chamber will hold a luncheon with former NFL head coach Tony Dungy today from noon to 1:30 p.m. at The Peabody hotel, 149 Union Ave. For reservations, contact Alexis Rutland at 543-3511 or arutland@memphischamber.com.

The Memphis Rotary Club will meet today at noon at the University Club of Memphis, 1346 Central Ave. Dr. John Smarrelli Jr., president of Christian Brothers University, will speak. The Alliance for Nonprofit Excellence will hold a workshop today from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. at its office, 5100 Poplar Ave., Suite 502. Fayre Crossley, director of the Grant Center, and Pattie Johnson, director of the Foundation Center, will speak. The free event is open to members only. The South Main Association will meet today at 6:45 p.m. at Itta Bena, 145 Beale St. Ken Neill, publisher of Contemporary Media, will speak about “The Future Nature of Local Journalism.” A social will precede the meeting at 6 p.m.

Vaco Mid-South will host a continuing education seminar Wednesday at 8 a.m. at the Memphis Botanic Garden, 750 Cherry Road. Topics of the event are “Fair Value Measurements,” “Goodwill and Intangible Asset impairment” and “Extensible Business Reporting Language.” Cost is $75. The University of Memphis will host the program “Making the Transition to College for Students with Learning Disabilities and/or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder” Monday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in Brister Hall, Room 220.
