The Freedom Award Dinner and Ceremony will be held today at 6:30 p.m. at the Memphis Cook Convention Center, 255 N. Main St. The annual award ceremony will pay tribute to the people whose accomplishments depict the spirit of the civil rights movement. Faith Hill and Oleta Adams will perform. Cost is $200. Rhodes College will host a lecture by Dr. Jacques Berlinerblau, Georgetown University scholar and blogger, today at 7:30 p.m. in the McCallum Ballroom of the Bryan Campus Life Center. The University of Memphis’ Fogelman College of Business & Economic Alumni Chapter will host its 16th annual Alumni Day luncheon Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at the Holiday Inn–University of Memphis, 3700 Central Ave. Dr. Bill Evans, CEO of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, will be the keynote speaker.
