The Memphis Bar Association will host “How to Prove Your Case” today from noon to 2:15 p.m. The seminar will be held in the courtroom of David S. Kennedy, chief judge of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Tennessee, on the ninth floor at 200 Jefferson Ave. The seminar is worth two hours of continuing legal education credit. The Theology & Arts Institute of Memphis Theological Seminary will host a conference today and Saturday at 8 a.m. at CONECT Inc., 256 N. Merton St. Dr. Bernice Johnson Reagon will speak. Cost is $40 for the two-day conference. For more information, call Catharine Cummings at 334-5860.

Fayette County Animal Rescue has been ordered to shut down by the Fayette County government. As a result, many animals will need homes, and Fayette County Animal Rescue will host an adoption event Saturday at PetSmart at the corner of Winchester and Hacks Cross roads. The Engineers’ Club of Memphis Inc. will meet Monday at noon at the Holiday Inn–University of Memphis, 3700 Central Ave. Mark Mazzone will give a speech titled “40-Million Dollar Riverfront.” Cost is $12. No reservations are required.
