Memphis City Schools will hold five community forums today to discuss the search for a new superintendent. They will be held from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Manassas High School, 781 Firestone Ave.; 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Craigmont High School, 3333 Covington Pike; 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Whitehaven High School, 4851 Elvis Presley Blvd.; 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Cordova High School, 1800 Berryhill Road; and from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at White Station High School, 514 S. Perkins Road.
Peria Inc., a Midtown boutique offering upscale women's accessories and shoes, will host a "Step Into Spring" event today from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Attendees can preview the spring line. Peria also is partnering with the local Memphis affiliate of Dress for Success, an international nonprofit organization that promotes the independence of disadvantaged women. The store will donate a percentage of proceeds from every pair of spring shoes sold to the organization through March. Peria is at 1680 Union Ave.
The Memphis/Mid-South Area Pulmonary Hypertension Support Group will meet today at 6 p.m. at Logan's Roadhouse at 2710 N. Germantown Parkway. Dr. Majid Mughal, a pulmonary hypertension specialist from the University of South Alabama, will be the guest speaker. Team in Training will host the first Wedding Crashers fundraiser event to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of the Mid-South Saturday from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Jay Etkin Gallery, 409 S. Main St. Guests will get to eat wedding cake and dance to wedding songs. Door prizes and a silent auction will be offered. Tickets are $50 and can be bought by calling Chris Albonetti at 825-1159.
